Our holiday homes in Diano Marina

In the article about the birth of our farmholidays we told you how the idea of creating holiday homes in the countryside of Diano Marina was born. The territory of Western Liguria has always seemed to us rich in incomparable beauty, landscape and culture, and for this reason we strongly believed in the project.
What we offer is the sharing of daily reality on our farm. But don't worry, we won't let you work in the fields, or in the greenhouses of basil and tomatoes: for you we have created comfortable holiday apartments in Diano Marina where you can enjoy the peace and quiet in the shade of our Ligurian terraces

The apartments of the farmholidays Le Girandole
Building a house is never easy. Yet when you build for yourself you have a clearer view of what you want to achieve. And so the choice of windows and doors is free for imagination, and there is no doubt (or almost no doubt) about which appliances to buy and for which it is better to wait. The colour of the walls is not a problem, if it can change every year when new inspirations arise.
But when you build for others, and in this case for the guests of our farmholidays, things are different. We had the possibility to build four apartments for holidays. So we had to leave our tastes aside and identify with those of likely tourists. What did they expect to find? What would they really need? With these objectives in mind, we tried to create a coherent stylistic line, to follow it in the choice of all the details.
The works
In 2003 we made the skeleton of the apartments. It took us seven years to complete the work and think about the furnishings.First of all we took care of the roofing of the staircase that connected the tomato warehouse to the Gelsomino and Ginestra apartments. Above the latter we raised the roof to create the current Edera, together with its terrace. At this point we created the separate entrances and the exposed stone bandages in the pillars of the porticoes of the three-room apartments.
The furniture
The organization of the interior was the most difficult part. From the choice of sanitary fixtures to plasters and appliances: we left nothing to chance. It took months to get to the final result, and it is a process that still lasts today. Every year we like to surprise our guests with new details and improvements, without distorting the spirit of each apartment. For this reason we purchase objects and furniture that enhance the "character" of our holiday homes: watches, carpets and furniture. Every single accessory, such as the light bulb in the two-room apartment Non ti scordar di me, it has been chosen for a particular reason: a suggestion linked to the territory, or the gift of a friend when returning from a trip.
The aim is always to make our guests feel at ease, guaranteeing them maximum comfort, in a simple but aesthetically pleasing context. Even the outdoor space, in fact, has been organized for the same reason: to enjoy the tranquility of the Ligurian countryside!
The colours and names of the apartments
You may be wondering if the idea of names or colours came first. Let us tell you the secret: Mamma Nives first chose the colours of the bathroom tiles, which have been extended to the rooms of each apartment. Depending on the dominant colour, she then chose the name of the corresponding flower or plant. This is how our holiday homes were born:
- Edera: green;
- Non ti scordar di me: indigo blue;
- Gelsomino: blue;
- Ginestra: orange.
As you can easily deduce, the inspiration for the style of the apartments came from Provence. The rustic, sweet and enveloping atmosphere seemed to us ideal to welcome our guests and make them feel at home.
